Ok I made this last night and although the smell of the carrot seed oil is, well, awful its offset by the lavender oil and coconut oil :) Trying it out this weekend at the beach!
ps...this is my son just a month out from coming home from Russia and first time on the beach...Love!

Crunchy Mama Project #1: Homemade Insect Repellant

So I've decided to slowly start replacing my chemical ridden products at home with either organic or homemade with YLEOs. So here's the recipe that I'm using for our insect repellant! I make a 16oz bottle, then poured some into 2 smaller 2oz bottles so I can keep in my purse or diaper bag for anytime I need it! Next up is Sunscreen!

What on earth is this thing?!


Well the ZYTO Compass Technology provides you with information about your body on a cellular level.  The Zyto Compass is a technology which prioritizes your body's preferences for specific Young Living Essential Oils and supplements.




In the most basic terms, ZYTO technology uses quantum physics, as well as, established Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) technology to measure fluctuations in electrical conductivity of the skin.



You place your hand on the hand cradle, the ZYTO software sends stimuli to the body using digital signatures that represent actual things, and the fluctuations in GSR are measured and interpreted. The response helps you see how your body responds to the items being tested, which ones it prefers, and how much it prefers them.

ZYTO technology measures the most rapidly changing field in the body, the energetic field, which processes 400 million impulses of information per second. When dealing with complex mind-body systems, repeatable measurements are not always expected. However, in most instances successive assessments will produce comparative results; each assessment will present a picture that is comparative in a meaningful way to the other assessments.

A recent hospital study showed a high correlation between the information provided by ZYTO’s technology and the recommendations made by attending physician.



In addition, several health professionals have conducted successful studies using ZYTO's technology. Recently, ZYTO concluded an extended research study in China that showed a high correlation between ZYTO technology results and physician choices.

Can the ZYTO diagnose disease?


No, It surveys the body to determine which organs and systems in the body are experiencing stress and what we can do to help bring your body back to a state of balance or homeostasis. ZYTO technology is referred to as a decision support technology. 
It's important to note that ZYTO scans 
do not treat or diagnose. 

Can you use this on small children?

Yes. For small children you need to make sure that they are able to make contact with all six of the connector points on the hand cradle. If the child cannot cover all of the connector points on the hand cradle with their hands, we can place the hand cradle on the abdomen of the child.

Heavenly Hands Lotion

Today, instead of highlighting an oil, I'm highlighting Ah-Mazing product that is made in part using Young Living's Lavender Essential Oil!

This is Calendula Cream made by HEAVENLY HANDS LOTION.

As a lot of you know, we adopted our son from Russia about a year and a half ago and we have been dealing with super dry skin ever since. At first I thought it was just related to poor nutrition in the orphanage, but quickly realized that he just has dry skin! Well he would scratch and scratch his bottom and had a really stubborn eczema patch on his thigh. I've tried everything from scentfree-dyefree soaps, detergents, lotions, hydrocortisone cream, etc..... YL's Lavender oil was working well on it, but his skin really needed a good emollient.

Well last week I got this cream to try.  After just two applications (Just 2!!) his eczema is gone! And his skin is soooooo soft. He's the softest he has been ever! Then yesterday he had a weird diaper rash. I applied the cream at bedtime and it was gone this morning. GONE!! We (hopefully) will be done with diapers soon, but until then, this is the only cream I'll be using for diaper rashes! And I'm going to be purchasing some more to keep his dry skin at bay.
